Problem:

Accurate coastline mapping and the resultant navigational charts are essential for safe maritime navigation. Navigational charts must be kept up-to-date, especially in high-volume shipping routes. Maintaining accurate charts presents a problem as coastlines can change significantly faster than chart update cycles. PCI Geomatics is helping overcome this challenge through the Coastal Mapping approach based on Coastchart.

Solution:

PCI Geomatics, based on the CoastChart program, is helping design, develop and implement an earth observation solution system to provide accurate, up-to-date, coastal information products. Satellite imagery, tidal data and existing charts are being used to determine up-to-date coastline locations and produce new coastline information products at various scales.
